There has been so much dispute over Elder Packer's talk given in Conference that it's really blowing my mind. Are the Prophets and Apostles not men called by God? Do they not prayerfully and diligently seek answers in regards to what they should speak on? They are given no instruction or specific topic on which to speak-it is purely left up to their own personal prayer and revelation... WHY must we, as the Natural Man, dispute and find fault in their words?! Was there not a talk specifically given discussing the topic of "taking offense"? I will not discuss my personal views on the matter or the talk given, however my opinion of the reactions and actions of the members and those who aren't members is truly appalling to me!!! Why must we make it more difficult and change words given to us as council purely because they didn't fit our lifestyle??
Elder Packer is a man, called of God to teach, serve, and uplift all. It just makes me sick inside to see church members NOT support the men called of God to give us council. I'm not looking for a debate to begin in my comment box. In fact, if you do not agree with me-don't even post anything. I just needed an outlet. I love this Gospel with all my heart and it HURTS to see the lack of support so VIVIDLY across the media (via the news, facebook, blogs etc) come on people!? How are we supposed to unite together to teach and serve if we are divided because of one talk?!
